受詞(受格)一般都是名詞所以在這邊用動名詞(動詞名詞化)

要把一個動作當名詞用要把它名詞化

因為前面的動詞gave up後面只能接動名詞

Well, English is a language and same as any other languages, it has grammar. But, one does not use the grammar the same way as if it is the chemical formula to compose a multi-agent compound, where the exact components and right amount of them must be strictly adhered to.

I hope (to grow)growing up my English writing. But most of (the) time I don't know how to explain My mind.
I don't understand which time need increase "the", or "ed" "ing"

give up是一個詞組，等於一個動詞，後面只能跟名詞或動名詞，所以smoke就必須要改成動名詞，文法上才正確。
